Today we drive inland to the Cultural Triangle. Dambulla’s UNESCO-listed cave temples are filled with ancient paintings and statues carved deep into the rock. After exploring, we check into a hotel with views of Sigiriya Rock.

We head south to the last royal capital—Kandy. Home to sacred traditions and beautiful hill country charm, today’s highlight is visiting the Temple of the Tooth, a revered Buddhist shrine housing Lord Buddha’s tooth relic.

We continue to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate. After a tea factory visit, you’ll join a Sri Lankan cooking class before boarding the iconic train to Ella, one of the world’s most scenic rides.

Train Ride: The scenic train ride to Ella is a highlight, but seat availability can be limited. We’ll do our best to secure confirmed seats, or arrange a backup scenic drive if not available.
Weather & Wildlife: The Udawalawe safari and beach walk are weather-dependent. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed.
Temple Visits: Modest clothing is required when entering temples (shoulders and knees should be covered). You may need to remove shoes.
